The Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. Spanning 277 miles in length with a width of up to 18 miles and a depth of over a mile, the Grand Canyon is known for its visually overwhelming size as its intricate but colorful landscape unravels for miles on end. Cutting through layers and layers of rock, the Colorado River and its tributaries expose nearly 2 billion years of geological history. This is a must-see for anyone who has not been to this vast and beautiful spectacle!

Welcome to thrill seeker paradise! The Kern River Valley area is a top destination for whitewater sports. Rock-climbing and exploring opportunities are yours at nearby Red Rock Canyon…a short 15-minute drive from the property. Our desert boasts clear gliding conditions, while both the valley and desert offer premiere skydiving.


Kern County has more than thirteen golf courses to choose from. The Tierra Del Sol Championship Golf Course and California City’s own public golf course are both located in the heart of California City adjacent to California City’s Central Park and its Central Park Lake.


Stunning views of majestic rock formations await you at the campground at Red Rock Canyon State Park. Lakeside and riverside camping opportunities abound at Lake Isabella and the Kern River less than 90 minutes away from the property.


Kern County is an angler’s dream. Fishing is open year round at Lake Isabella and sections of the Kern River. Whether you prefer easily accessible lakeside fishing or stream fishing in the Kern River, we have just the spot.


Although the Kern River is world-renowned for its whitewater activities, you may prefer to boat, sail, jet ski or windsurf at nearby Lake Isabella. Most of Lake Isabella’s waterfront is easily accessible to the public! Watercraft rentals are available at the French Gulch Marina just north of the City of Lake Isabella.

Winter Sport

Kern County has plenty to keep winter visitors busy with plenty of snow play along with downhill and cross-country skiing. At Alta Sierra, a short 35-minute drive from the City of Lake Isabella, snow boarding and skiing runs await you in winter.


Jawbone Canyon Recreation Area and Dove Springs Off-Highway Vehicle Area, well known for off-road fun, are just 15 minutes and 30 minutes respectively from the property and California City. (For your convenience, the local 76 gas station even sells VP fuel right out of the pump!) California City is home to the Desert Incident Response Team (D.I.R.T.) which consists of police, ambulance, and fire department volunteers dedicated to all OHV riders during long weekends and holidays. Also, one of the best MotoCross tracks in California, Cal City MX Park, is here in California City! Borax Bill Park, less than 2000 feet from the motocross park, has camping, water, picnic benches, barbecue grills, flush toilets, showers and a nearby refuse station.

Family Outings & Activities

Archery, tennis, horseback riding, cycling, trap & skeet, miniature golf and more are just minutes away at the popular Silver Saddle Ranch & Club. In addition, California City’s Central Park offers a pleasant area in which to swim, take a leisurely walk, or golf.
